So another great time in Atlanta before I officially moved back. The bestie and I made our way to CloudIX Restaurant and Lounge. This spot is so hidden down in the Castleberry area of Atlanta. We were skeptical at first because it’s so hard to find parking on Peters Street, but it was a Sunday and the place is actually located closer to Spring Street. It was unusually crowded for a Sunday night and we got to talk with the manager on duty who doubled as our server since it WAS so busy. He was amazing. The drinks were amazing and the food was on point. We were a little disappointed because they were out of several items on the menu, but we had the infamous Fish Fingers as an appetizer and were floored because they were so good! I could definitely go for that as a meal with two sides! I enjoyed my turkey meatloaf and the bestie had the crab cakes. For dessert I had the brownie since they were out of the red velvet cake (cause everyone KNOWS how I feel about RVC) and the bestie had the peach cobbler. Trust me I should’ve gotten the peach cobbler because it was delicious and the brownie was just so-so. I cannot wait to experience the lounge/music section on the weekend or a select day because I was digging the vibe there. So two thumbs up! Thanks to @atlbitelife and @JodinesCorner for the suggestion!! Follow CloudIX on twitter @cloudixlounge

What more can I say? This was the second time that I’ve been to Buckhead Bottle Bar and Bistro and I was not disappointed. This time I had dinner with my bestie Demishia Wright CEO of LaShelle Denise, LLC after attending an earlier event at Justin’s. We decided to sit outside since it was a nice night. We were disappointed to know that we missed Chef Ellis (@theChefATL) because he was so awesome when we were there last. Travis was our server and he was great! I was in a wine mood (aren’t I always) so I had the Reisling and the bestie had her usual Grand Marnier on the rocks. The last time we were here, it was late and we ordered from the late night menu. This time we had more options and the Grand Peppercorn Filet immediately caught my bestie’s eyes because of the Grand Marnier (surprise, surprise) glaze that they use. I saw stuffed chicken with spinach and was sold! I HAD to get the truffle MAC and CHEESE which was amazing!!! It was interesting to sit outside because though there is no smoking in that area, people can smoke outside the area so that was the only thing that I gave a thumbs down to. I really like the atmosphere. It’s great for a laid back meal with not a lot of fuss. For dessert we decided on the apple tart which was also delicious. I will forever suggest BBB to anyone who wants a great meal and great service.
Good times had by all of course. But it’s always a good time when you put LaShelle Denise, LLC and CandiConnections in the same place!

BUT IT’S NOT OVER!!!! After our great experience, on the way home what happened? We got pulled over a block away! By the sexiest, most chocolate cops I’ve ever seen! One was on my side and the other on the bestie’s side. I couldn’t breathe… Not because I was nervous but because he was so fine! Only I would get pulled over for forgetting to turn on my headlights! No ticket thank GOD! BUT… besides that truffle mac and cheese Mr. Officer was the highlight of my night!!! WHEW!!!!
That being said… PEACE!!! More to come…

So the besties and I had to try some place new while I was in town this past weekend. I remembered reading a suggestion from Nick Love of ATL Bite Life (@AtlBiteLife) about the opening of The Yard House at Atlantic Station. He’s never steered me wrong before so we tried it. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the ambiance. I honestly thought it was going to be very sports-bar-ish. Not at all. We were greeted with smiles and taken to our table very quickly. Karis was our server and she was very sweet and knowledgeable. The beer menu looked very extensive. (I’m not a beer drinker so I will leave that review to Ale Sharpton (@alesharpton)). The mixed drinks were sooooo good. We tried The Southern Punch, The Escalade, The Tuaca Berry Blast, The Bikini Tini, and the Silver Caddy. Kudos to the bartender!!! We tried several different items on the menu including the Beef Braised beef taco and the apple pear salad. I also thought the chicken tortilla soup sounded interesting because it is a cream based soup and I’m used to a tomato based soup. I was not disappointed at all. The lettuce wraps and the chicken taco plate was also ordered and enjoyed.
It’s always a good time with the besties! The atmosphere was so laid back that we had a great conversation without yelling at one another. There were tv’s all around so we didn’t miss any of the NBA playoff games. Another great place that was conquered by the NinEight Crew in Atlanta! Love those chicas!!! More to come…
